Tasty Tuesday: Plant Based Convenience

In a perfect world, all my family’s food would be made from scratch, preferably from vegetables and fruits grown in the backyard.  Alas, we leave in the real world and sometimes convenience wins out.  Fortunately, if you know where to look, finding convenient foods that are also wholesome is possible.  Today I am sharing 5 plant based foods that are as convenient as they are tasty.

1.) Organic Frozen Berries:

We use berries in our house like they are going out of style.  These huge bags are great to have on hand for smoothies.

organic strawberries

2.) Hilary’s Veggie Burgers:

These burgers literally take 10 minutes to cook and contain all wholesome and recognizable ingredients.

Ingredients:

cooked whole grain millet, cooked whole grain quinoa, expeller pressed coconut oil, sweet potatoes, leafy greens (one or more of the following: arugula, beet greens, chard, collards, dandelion, kale, parsley, spinach, turnip greens), onions, Redmond’s Real Salt®, apple cider vinegar, psyllium husk powder, arrowroot, garlic

3.) Organic Greens:

We do have some kale growing in the garden, but I always keep a big bag of greens on hand since we go through them so quickly.  These pre-washed greens make smoothie and salad making super simple.

4.) Organic Corn Tortillas:

Truth be told, we actually use a local brand that rocks but in case you are not a CVille resident, the ingredients in these Whole Foods Brand tortillas are the same.  They are very versatile and wonderful with a Hilary’s burger, some homemade hummus, and greens!

5.) Organic Unsweetened Soy Milk:

This soy milk has become a pantry staple.  Only two ingredients and made with organic soybeans, it is great in recipes, sauces, or anywhere else you might use milk.
